Announcement on the release of 14.5 billion euros from the European Commission

18-May-2010 Today the Greek Government received the amount of 14.5 billion euro from the European Commission through the European Central Bank.

The first disbursement comprised of bilateral loans from 10 lending Eurozone countries participating in the first tranche with the following amounts:

Today's release together with the amount of 5.5 billion euro disbursed in May 12 by the International Monetary Fund cover the first tranche of 20 billion euro in the support mechanism totaling 110 billion euro for Greece agreed with Eurozone and the IMF under the three-year economic and financial policy program.

These disbursements cover the immediate and short-term financing needs of the Hellenic Republic.
