Bahrain Airport appoints Gordon Dewar as new CEO

20-May-2010 Bahrain Airport Company announced today that it has appointed Gordon Dewar, currently Managing Director of Edinburgh Airport as its CEO, taking up the post in the beginning of July.

Mr. Dewar has brought unprecedented growth whilst at the helm of Edinburgh Airport prior to which he occupied the same role at Glasgow Airport. He boasts over twenty years of experience in the transport industry, holding a number of senior management positions with leading transport operators, including commercial, general management and business development roles.

Furthermore Mr. Dewar has vital experience in airport expansion and capacity building having successfully launched a £40m terminal extension at Edinburgh Airport as part of a £300m investment plan he has drawn up.

"We are confident that Mr. Dewar has all the right credentials and the relevant experience, especially in managing airport operations and expansions," commented Bahrain Airport Company Chairman, Mr. Kamal Ahmed. "I trust he will develop on the work that has been made and pursue the strategic plans we have set to realize our vision of a global aviation hub."
