14-Jul-2010 The number of passengers carried on board the RJ aircraft in June this year reached 268,000, marking an increase of 13% over the same month in 2009.

RJ President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said in a press statement that due to this increase, the seat factor amounted to 70% and the airline's number of flights went up by 10% compared to the same period last year, reaching 3,465 flights.

He stressed that despite the higher numbers of passengers, Royal Jordanian still had a 91% on-time performance, exceeding the best punctuality levels achieved by global airlines.

Dabbas also pointed out that RJ is witnessing great demand on travel aboard its planes during this summer season, due to the airline's improved ground and air services offered by its modern fleet, and to the electronic and automated systems it adopted, which make it much easier for passengers to travel. RJ has introduced electronic tickets, and offers the service of online check-in, enabling passengers to issue their boarding passes electronically from their homes.

Dabbas said RJ is expected to register record numbers of passengers this July -- over 330,000. All sectors of the RJ route network are witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of passengers, particularly those traveling to Jordan to visit their relatives, or come for tourism or investment.
