EuroAirport: Strike by French civil aviation authority staff

Direct News Source

Several French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) trade union organisations have announced a national strike which will affect civil aviation services from Tuesday evening, 20 July 2010 to Thursday morning, 22 July 2010.

The DGAC will mobilize the necessary staff to ensure operations in certain control centres, including Basel-Mulhouse airport, due to its special bi-national (Franco-Swiss) status. These emergency services will be in operation from Tuesday, 20 July 2010, 8 p.m. local time to Thursday, 22 July 2010, 8 a.m. local time.

Due to the reduced capacities at the Basel-Mulhouse airport, other control centres and airports in France, delays should be anticipated and some airline companies may reduce their flight programmes.
