PATA: Germany for consistent air tax

Direct News Source

20-Jul-2010 Germany plans to charge air passenger tax according to the distance travelled. To be put in motion from 2011, the tax will be set at between 13-26 euros.

Although both national carriers Lufthansa and Air Berlin protested against this, German daily Handelsblatt quoted Peter Ramsauer, German Transport Minister, as having said that he proposed for the tax to be extended to other European countries too, in a bid at consistency.
