21-Jul-2010 Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won a $420m order, at list prices, from Garuda Indonesia Airlines for Trent engines to power six Airbus A330 aircraft. The order includes long-term TotalCare® service support. Deliveries will begin in 2012.

Emirsyah Satar, Chief Executive Officer, Garuda Indonesia Airlines, said: "We are pleased to make a further selection of Rolls-Royce engines for our A330 fleet. The aircraft represents an exciting new phase of development for Garuda and our shareholders. TotalCare has delivered significant improvements in aircraft availability and operations to our existing A330 fleet and will do so with our latest aircraft."

Nick Devall, Rolls-Royce, Executive Vice President - Customer Business, said: "We are delighted that Garuda Airlines has again chosen Rolls-Royce technology to power these additional A330 aircraft. We are committed to working closely with the airline as they continue to develop their fleet."

The Trent 700, the only engine specifically designed for the A330, remains the market leader for the aircraft, achieving more than 70 per cent of new orders over the last three years. The order brings the total number of Garuda's Trent 700 powered A330s to 16, all supported by TotalCare.

Earlier this week Rolls-Royce announced that Garuda Indonesia Airlines signed an additional contract for Rolls-Royce TotalCare to support four leased Trent 700 powered A330-200 aircraft, for the next seven years.
