ALTA member airlines passenger traffic increases 14.0% in Jun-2010
05-Aug-2010 The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 10.9 million passengers in June, up 14.0% from the previous year.
In addition to passengers increasing 14.0%, traffic (RPK) grew 16.8% and capacity (ASK) increased 13.6%. The load factor climbed to 69.9%, 1.9 percentage points higher than in June 2009.
The number of passengers carried year-to-date (January to June) increased 15.6% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 65.9 million passengers. During the aforementioned period, traffic (RPK) rose 14.4%, capacity (ASK) increased 8.0%, and passenger load factor reached 71.3%, 4.0 percentage points higher than the previous year.
Freight ton kilometers increased 42.6% in June and 44.3% year to date.
