Event to highlight the new Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal
06-Aug-2010 Cathay Pacific Airways cordially invite friends of the media to join a special event to preview the state-of-the-art features of the new Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport.
As the home carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific is deeply committed to developing the city's position as a global aviation and airfreight hub. Our HK$5.5 billion investment in the new terminal demonstrates both our long-term confidence in the local airfreight industry and the strength of our commitment to Hong Kong.
The terminal, which will begin operations in 2013, is being designed for an annual air cargo throughput of 2.6 million tonnes and will help boost the efficiency and competitiveness of the Hong Kong air cargo hub. The airline's subsidiary, Cathay Pacific Services Ltd, has been awarded a franchise to design, build and operate the new cargo terminal.
The media event will offer a preview of the features of the new cargo terminal and outline the long-term plans for Cathay Pacific's airfreight operation in Hong Kong. Programme details are as follows:

Meeting place: Please gather at the main entrance of Cathay Pacific City, 8 Scenic Road, HKIA. Transportation to the terminal site will be provided.

- The event may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Media will be notified at 9am on the day of the event should such a need arise.
- For safety reasons, the group will need to remain inside the designated area of the construction site for the duration of the ceremony.
