Continental Airlines: Hurricane Earl to affect U.S. East Coast flights

01-Sep-2010 Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) announced travel options for customers whose flight plans may be affected by Hurricane Earl.

Storm conditions are expected to make air travel difficult on the United States East Coast, forcing some delays and cancellations of flights at airports in the region, including at its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. To avoid inconvenience, travelers may wish to delay commencement of their trip.

Customers scheduled on flights to, from or through affected airports through Sept. 5, 2010 are permitted a one-time date or time change to their itinerary without penalty providing rescheduled travel originates by Sept. 19, 2010. The fastest and most convenient way to change travel plans is via continental.com. Customers should enter their confirmation number and last name in "Manage Reservations." Customers may also call Continental Airlines reservations at 800-525-0280 or their travel agent.

Automated flight status with TripAlert

Customers may opt to receive automated TripAlert messages regarding changes to their flight's departure and arrival times. Customers who are OnePass members may customize TripAlert settings through their OnePass profile. Customers who are not OnePass members may receive these important messages via e-mail by providing a valid e-mail address when making their initial flight reservation. If no e-mail address is available, Continental Airlines will attempt to contact them by phone.
