07-Oct-2010 Negotiations with the Finnish Aviation Union and Finavia's subsidiary RTG have ended without results, and the strike started today at 3 p.m. Despite the strike, Finavia aims to take care of all ground handling services at its airports as usual.

"From the perspective of Finavia and RTG, in the negotiations, there remained no open questions which would not have been agreed on. However, the Finnish Aviation Union did not reschedule the strike," says Samuli Haapasalo, CEO of Finavia. "I am going to discuss the situation again tomorrow with IAU Chairperson Haapasaari."

"I hope that this strike will cause minimal harms to passengers," says Haapasalo. However, passengers are requested to arrive in time to the airport and travel with just hand luggage whenever possible.
