CAA initials 3 air services agreements with Latin American & African states

11-Oct-2010 Montréal, Canada, The UAE, General Civil Aviation Authority recently initialled three Air Services Agreements (ASA's) and signed three MOU,s with the delegations representing the Government of Burkina Faso, Guatemala and Vanuatu.

H.E Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority initialled the ASA's and signed the Mou,s on behalf of UAE government on the sidelines of the International Civil Aviation Organization assembly 37th held in Montréal between 26 September - 5 October 2010.

On behalf of the other delegations, Mr. Moumouni Diegumde, Director General of civil aviation in Burkina Faso , Sr. Juan Jose Carlos, Director General of Aeronautical Authority in Guatemala and Mr. Joseph Kasten, Advisor in Civil Aviation authority of Vanuatu initialled the ASA's and signed the MoU's.

The objective of the MOUs is to strengthen co-operation in air services between UAE and the signed entities, and to facilitate air services by the designated carriers of the UAE, Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, RAK airways, and Fly Dubai with the airlines of the signed states in due course.

The state parties also agreed on the principles of governing operations of agreed services, exercise of fifth freedom traffic rights and on avoidance of double taxation.

The UAE delegation attended the signing included Mrs. Laila Bin Hareb, Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Excellence Department, GCAA and Mr. Juan Carlos, Air Transport Advisor, GCAA.
