Qantas international schedule update

Direct News Source

19-Nov-2010 Qantas today released an updated schedule for travel on its international network until 3 December to ensure minimum disruption to passengers following the grounding of its Airbus A380 fleet.

All Qantas customers will be accommodated on services across the entire international network regardless of when A380 aircraft re-enter service.

While are continuing to investigate our A380 fleet and until we can resume flying we have released a further contingency schedule to provide certainty to customers who plan to travel in the near future

With over 250 aircraft in the Qantas Group domestic and international fleet Qantas is well positioned to ensure minimal disruptions during this time, with no international cancellations required for this period.

The updated schedule will continue to see Boeing 747s replace A380s on all USA and some UK services, which are all operating normally, as well as the replacement of 747s to A330s on seven Sydney-Hong Kong services per week. There have been no cancellations to services to the USA or UK, usually serviced by A380s.

B767s will also continue to replace A330 aircraft on 14 Perth-Singapore services per week and A330s will replace B747s on seven Sydney-Tokyo services each week.

In addition, to maximise our fleet capability the QF67, which operates Perth-Hong Kong and the QF97, which operates Brisbane-Hong Kong, will both be re-timed to depart 12 hours earlier.
