Direct News Source

09-Dec-2010 On Thursday evening, after yesterday's snow and the resulting problems today to get to the airport, flight operations have returned to normal, with a few delays however.

The situation was still difficult this morning, forcing Air France to cancel certain short and medium-haul flights.

Given the exceptional circumstances, customers can contact their ticket office or travel agent to change their reservation at no extra cost, in the same travel class, whatever the fare, up to 12 December 2010 included, if their flight is cancelled or delayed by more than 5 hours.

Customers can also postpone their trip at no extra cost up to 5 March 2011, at the same fare subject to availability, or by paying the difference with another fare. If their flight is cancelled and customers prefer to cancel thier trip and request a refund, their ticket will be refunded, except for service charges. To do this, they can contact their usual ticket office or travel agent.

Yesterday, heavy snow in the Paris region severely disrupted flight operations from Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airports. Air France was forced to cancel several flights. All Air France staff did their best to assist customers whose travel plans were disrupted. For the night of 8 to 9 December, Air France reserved 1,200 hotel rooms in the Paris region. At Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airports, thousands of meal and drinks vouchers as well as blankets were given to passengers.
