Blackpool Airport: Passenger information: Christmas & New Year travel

Direct News Source

As we all know, the UK is in the grip of another period of freezing weather.

Blackpool Airport aims to maintain normal operations and the airport's airfield operations team are working round the clock to ensure a continued service to our passengers and airline customers however there will be some disruption to flights especially if weather conditions in the north west worsen.

We would ask all passengers to arrive at the airport as normal unless otherwise advised by your airline or travel agent. The live flight information page on this website will show flight status and we will update the news section should it be required.

When travelling over the Christmas and New Year period, we would urge all departing passengers to check with the airline you are travelling with to ensure that you are not carrying any festive items which are not allowed in luggage. All party poppers, fireworks and other such items are prohibited from all passenger baggage and each airline has a different policy on accepting Christmas crackers so check with them before travel.

Many passengers will be travelling with Christmas presents which may be wrapped. If you are carrying presents in your hand luggage please be aware of what the items are and remember to check that they meet the DfT liquid restrictions. It may be wiser to carry wrapped presents in your hold luggage rather than as hand luggage.

We wish all our passengers and airline partners a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful and Happy New Year!
