Air Malta: Weather causes flight disruptions

Direct News Source

20-Dec-2010 Heavy snowfalls in the UK and Northern Europe have forced the closure of various European airports on Saturday and Sunday, and are causing disruptions to flights schedules.

This morning all Air Malta flights to the UK and Northern Europe have operated with slight delays and flight KM 420/1 has been cancelled due to severe weather conditions in Brussels.

As previously advised, BAA has instructed airlines operating less than 3 daily frequencies to London Heathrow to reduce their flight activity into Heathrow to one frequency a day. These instructions still stand for tomorrow.

In this regard, Air Malta will operate its flight KM100/1 to London Heathrow as per normal schedule tomorrow, however the airline is constrained to cancel its evening flight KM102/3 to London Heathrow scheduled for tomorrow 20th December 2010.

KM116/7 scheduled to operate to London Gatwick airport tomorrow 20th December will also operate as per normal schedule.

Passengers booked to travel on Air Malta's evening flight to London Heathrow are urged to travel on the morning flights to London Heathrow and London Gatwick. All those interested, are kindly asked to contact our International Call Centre on +35621662211 or Air Malta Sales Office at Malta International Airport

Since flight delays are possible, passengers are urged to check the flight status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
