20-Dec-2010 Royal Jordanian on Dec. 20, 2010, resumed its flights to London as London Heathrow Airport reopened after two days of closure due to severe weather conditions and heavy snow that covered the airport runways.

Royal Jordanian President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said that the company's regular flight RJ 111 departed from Amman to London Heathrow Airport Monday afternoon and will return to Amman this evening. He pointed out that Royal Jordanian requested London Heathrow Airport to authorize two additional flights on Dec. 20 to carry the passengers who have bookings to Amman and have been stuck in London for the past two days., The airport authorities did not agree with the RJ request, however, because of the large number of such requests from international airlines, Dabbas added.

The RJ president stated that RJ requested to operate an additional flight on Dec. 21, stressing that the company is keen to get air traffic between Amman and London back to normal after the disruption caused by the uncontrollable weather conditions, having the passengers' safety and comfort as its first priority.
