THAI delays Bangkok-London v.v. flights due to adverse weather

20-Dec-2010 Today (20 December 2010), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announced the delayed departure and arrival of flights from Bangkok-London v.v. due to heavy snowfall at Heathrow Airport, which the airport authority will operate only for limited flights.

Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, President of Thai Airways International, said that due to adverse weather conditions and heavy snowfall, London's Heathrow Airport is temporarily closed. The adverse weather conditions and heavy snow on the ground at Heathrow Airport create obstacles for flight departures and arrivals. A limited amount of flights are being allowed to operate to and from London, therefore priority for flight departure will be granted to airlines with passengers currently disabled at Heathrow Airport. For passenger safety and also in accordance with the advisory from London Heathrow air traffic control, regularly scheduled flights will not operate.

The delayed flights are listed below, regularly scheduled as follows:

- TG916 Bangkok-London 1330-1935 hrs.

- TG917 London-Bangkok 2135-1555 hrs.
