28-Dec-2010 Notwithstanding severe weather events Boryspil airport continue operating as normal.

Airport runways are cleaned by patrolling. Measured friction coefficient of the runways is maintained to be 0.3. It is sufficient to accept and to dispatch all types of aircraft.

Necessary equipment is involved to clean aprons and runways from snow contamination: 11 Jet-Broom snow-removing units, 6 tractors, 2 road cleaning units. Auger wheel cleaners are ready to push snow away at the distance up to 50 m and 7 Elephant deicers are handling aircrafts.

Arriving flights are delayed due to severe weather conditions at departure airports as well as other technical reasons caused by airlines operation.

Departure of aircrafts is under total control. Aircraft deicing of all and every departing aircraft is maintained according to take-off sequence and flight regularity.

On these pre-holiday days all departments of Boryspil airport do their best to dispatch flights in time and to make passengers happy.
