Rolls-Royce statement on resumption of Qantas A380 flights to USA
11-Jan-2011 Please find below a statement from Rolls-Royce regarding the resumption of Qantas A380 flights on USA routes.
A Rolls-Royce spokesperson stated, "We are delighted that Qantas is now resuming its services to Los Angeles and that the Trent 900 fleet has returned to normal operation. All engine thrust restrictions have now been removed in agreement with Airbus, our airline customers and the regulators.
"Immediately following the event of November 4th we agreed a programme of inspection and maintenance which allowed the majority of the Trent 900 fleet to continue to fly as scheduled. This inspection regime has also been alleviated.
"Delivery of new rolls-Royce powered A380s is continuing. We expect approximately 60% of Airbus A 380 deliveries in 2011 to be powered by the Trent 900."
