Brisbane Airport survives 4am high tide

The International and Domestic Terminals, runways, taxiways, carparks and roads are all clear of water and operating.

Now the worst is passed, BAC is confident the airport will stay open, but it will continue to monitor water levels throughout the week as a precaution.

Public transport to and from Brisbane Airport is available but limited. Airtrain Gold Coast service is still running but only to Yeerongpilly. There is no alternative transport from this point and passengers need to find alternative means of transport to their own way to their destination.

All Translink/Airtrain services are currently free. There will be another update in regards to Airtrain services later this morning. For further information on public transport options, visit www.translink.com.au

Roads on the Brisbane Airport precinct are currently open and are expected to remain open from now on. For roads surrounding the airport precinct which may be impacted by flooding, please visit www.131940.qld.gov.au

BAC would like to notify Brisbane residents that the airport is not a designated evacuation centre. Designated evacuation centres are located at ANZ QEII Stadium on Kessells Road, Nathan and RNA Showgrounds at Bowen Hills. For more information, phone Brisbane City Council on 3403 8888.
