Statement of President Barroso following the Moscow airport bombing

24-Jan-2011 President Barroso has reacted to the Moscow airport bombing with the following statement:

"It was with shock and great sadness that I heard about the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport outside Moscow this afternoon. I strongly condemn this cowardly terrorist attack. I send my heartfelt condolences to the government and to the people of the Russian Federation, and in particular to the families and the loved ones of the victims. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with them in these terrible moments.

Vice-President Kallas, European Commissioner for Transport, has written to Russia Transport Minister Igor Levitin to offer any technical support or assistance that the Russian authorities may require."
