American Airlines expands Asian service with new flights to Shanghai, China

05-Apr-2011 American Airlines today begins its new nonstop Shanghai, China, service with daily flights from Los Angeles International Airport. American will fly the route with Boeing 777 aircraft which feature 16 First Class, 37 Business Class and 194 Economy Class seats.

"Both Austin and Shanghai are high profile centers of technology," said Cathy Berg, Regional Vice President - Passenger Sales. "Companies from Austin and Shanghai have been doing business together for years, but now we can make travel between the two easier with our new daily Shanghai flight. The Los Angeles cornerstone hub offers many Asian travel options, either on American or easy connections around the globe through our oneworld® Alliance partners."

The new Shanghai service departs Los Angeles at 3:10 p.m. each day. It is part of a major expansion of the Los Angeles cornerstone hub that will see more than 30 flights added today to 15 communities for a total of over 150 daily flights.
