Kingfisher Airlines: Update issued on Wednesday 25-May-2011 at 13:00 Hours IST
25-May-2011 Having assessed the current information received from Eurocontrol about the recent eruption of Grímsvötn in Iceland and considering the meteorological forecasts, Kingfisher Airlines is operating all its flights from India to the United Kingdom today namely:-
(1) IT-007 Mumbai to London Heathrow .
(2) IT-008 London Heathrow to Mumbai .
(3) IT-001 New Delhi to London Heathrow .
(4) IT-002 London Heathrow to New Delhi .
In keeping with Kingfisher Airlines' policy of placing the safety and comfort of our guests, crew and aircraft above everything else, today's flights have been re-routed on a more southerly route into and out of London Heathrow airport so as to steer clear of any airspace that may potentially be impacted by drifting volcanic ash.
Because the situation is dynamic and ever changing, we will continue to closely monitor it in coordination with Eurocontrol and air traffic control services in the region and further updates will be provided if and when the situation changes.
