Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport retains position as busiest airport for 18th year in 2015

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said (05-Feb-2016) Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport retained its title as the busiest airport in the world for the 18th consecutive year in 2015, in terms of passenger numbers and aircraft movements. Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson handled 101.5 million passengers in 2015, becoming the airport ever to serve more than 100 million passengers in a single year and an increase of 5.5% year-on-year. The airport also handled 882,497 movements, an increase of 1.6%. Cargo volume increased 4.2% to 626,201 tonnes. [more - original PR]
