Hawaiian Airlines takes delivery of first A330 with premium cabin, fully lie-flat seating

Hawaiian Airlines announced (23-May-2016) it took delivery of its first A330 aircraft featuring fully lie-flat seating in the premium cabin. The 18 lie-flat seats fold into 180-degree beds that are 20.5in wide by 76in long, aligned in a 2-2-2- configuration. The carrier plans to add 28 additional Extra Comfort seats to the A330 aircraft in response to growing demand for its popular premium economy service, offering 36 inches of seat pitch, priority boarding at the gate, complimentary on-demand in-seat entertainment, and a personal power outlet. Hawaiian's newly outfitted A330 premium cabin will enter the carrier's US West Coast network in Jun-2016, with sales expected to commence in autumn 2016. The first dedicated routes will also be revealed along with "new signature service elements and a host of new amenities." Hawaiian will phase installation of additional A330 premium cabins starting autumn 2016 through early 2018. The carrier will have 23 A330s by summer 2016, after taking delivery of its final aircraft type on order. [more - original PR]
