LAN plans to invest USD1.8 billion on acquiring 23 new aircraft in 2012. This is a doubling of expenditure from 2011's amount of USD841 million. The carrier also stated it expects passenger capacity (ASK) growth of between 12% and 14% in 2012, which will be largely driven by the net delivery of 13 passenger aircraft.
