LATAM Airlines Group commences operating as LATAM Airlines

LATAM Airlines Group announced (05-May-2016) the LATAM Airlines was inaugurated under the consolidated brand with three commercial services on 05-May-2016. These services were Sao Paulo Guarulhos-Santiago, operated with Boeing 767 equipment, Santiago-Lima operated with A319 equipment and Sao Paulo Guarulhos-Brasilia, operated with A319. Airport changes will include new signage at check in counters, boarding passes, baggage tags and LATAM Airlines lounges. The rebranding will reportedly be concluded by 2019 including aircraft/airport rebranding. LATAM Airlines Group CEO Enrique Cueto stated "Today, a new chapter begins in the history of Latin American and global aviation" adding: "LATAM Airlines Group will offer clients more than a new brand - it will offer a new travel experience. The LATAM brand will simplify and improve the travel experience for all our passengers. While the changes will be made gradually over the coming years, the benefits will be immediate".
