Mexicana bankruptcy proceedings will not affect Click or Link

Mexico's Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) confirmed (04-Aug-2010) that Mexicana has filed an insolvency petition before a federal judge on 02-Aug-2010 in an effort to restructure its liabilities and align its cost structure. The bankruptcy proceedings will have no effect on the operations of Mexicana Click and Mexicana Link. Mexicana will continue operating normally in accordance with Mexican Insolvency Law and passengers, flights and itineraries will not be affected by the insolvency proceeding. [more]

Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) stated as of 30-Jun-2010, Mexicana Group accounted for 21.8% of OMA’s accounts receivable, of which Mexicana accounted for 10.8%. OMA reported the following route modifications as a result of the bankruptcy proceedings:

  • Zacatecas-Bajío, Suspended;
  • Monterrey-México, Reduction by one flight per day;
  • Zacatecas-Tijuana, Connection via Mexico City;
  • Monterrey-New York, Connection via Mexico City;
  • Zacatecas–Los Angeles, Connection via Mexico City;
  • Zacatecas–Oakland, Connection via Mexico City;
  • Zacatecas–Chicago, Connection via Mexico City. [more]
