Singapore Airlines Group 'well positioned to compete' in 'a challenging operating environment'

Singapore Airlines Group stated (12-May-2016) it is well positioned to compete in a challenging operating environment, caused in part by weak economic activity and relatively rapid growth in capacity. The carrier said the introduction of A350-900s will help boost its network competitiveness, improve operating efficiency and create opportunities to commence new long-haul routes. Full ownership of Tigerair is expected to enhance group synergies. The airline said advance bookings for Apr-2016 to Jun-2016 are tracking positively against seat capacity. [more - original PR]
