TransAsia Airways announced (09-Aug-2016) its board has approved plans to integrate wholly-owned subsidiary V Air with the carrier, with the LCC to cease operations from 01-Oct-2016. Chairman Vincent Lin said the move is aimed at expediting reconstruction of TransAsia Airways Group. He also said a comprehensive plan for V Air employees will be laid out as soon as the integration takes place. V Air commenced operations on 17-Dec-2014 and has since transported around 580,000 passengers with load factor averaging above 77% on its Chiang Mai and Bangkok routes.
