US House of Representatives passed (03-Feb-2012) HR 658, the 'FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012' by a vote of 248 to 169. The bill is a four-year infrastructure measure to reform Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programmes, improve US aviation infrastructure and modernise the air traffic control system. House and Senate conferees had reached agreement on the measure last week. The Senate is now expected to consider the conference report this week. [more - original PR]
