Aerocanarias was a Spanish start-up planning to operate services from the Canary Islands. The carrier was awaiting its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and unnamed European operating permits. Aerocanarias has a capital base of EUR40 million and will launch with three aircraft, an ERJ-170 for inter-island services, an A320 for continental services and an A330 for long-haul services to Latin America and Scandinavia. The carrier plans to avoid the LCC model, and instead establish itself as a network carrier to capture intercontinental Europe-Americas traffic. No potential start date or specific base was reported. It is assumed the carrier abandoned plans to launch operations.
