About
Linea Aérea Merideña Internacional de Aviación (LaMia) was established as a Venezuelan start-up, to be based at Merida Airport. Following a number failed bids, LaMia transferred it's operations to the Bolivian market in 2014 and established LaMia Corporación S.R.L. Operating as LaMia Bolivia, it commenced service operations in 2016 with BAe Avro RJ85 equipment. Bolivia's DGAC suspended the carrier's AOC on 01-Dec-2016, following the Flight 2933 incident. The BAE 146 Avro RJ85 aircraft was LaMia Bolivia's sole operating aircraft.
