Air China tops airline Enterprise Value rankings; Delta second; no LCCs in top 10
It would appear China has already reached its aim of creating a world-beating "super carrier" – at least in terms of financial size. Air China is by far the world’s biggest airline, based on a current ranking of listed airlines’ Enterprise Values (EV) assembled by the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA).
Now it’s about fuel – again
In 2007-2008 the airlines most feared the rising cost of fuel and, especially in the US, used the expense to dramatically cut service, scale back operations, retire aircraft and reduce capacity. But the positive effects of those actions were almost immediately negated by the recession, which brought a whole new set of problems.
Day one for United Continental Holdings, battle looms on outsourcing
United and Continental completed their legal merger on Friday and kicked off the day with a mini-press conference marking the event. The pilots unions also recognised the milestone, reiterating its opposition to further outsourcing.

United, Southwest, US Airways and Continental all reported double-digit unit revenue growth in Jun-2010, suggesting the recovery is well and truly established in the US. The month was also characterised by strong load factors, continued careful capacity management and improved demand.
Impressive PRASM performance for United, Continental, Southwest, JetBlue and US Airways
Southwest Airlines, the star performer in improving its unit revenues in recent months, continued to report double-digit yield growth in May-2010, but was trumped by United Airlines and Continental Airlines, both of which reported 20%+ growth in the month. JetBlue Airways and US Airways also reported double-digit growth in the month.
