Airports Company South Africa

Create Diamond Alert

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) was formed in 1993 to own and operate South Africa’s nine principal airports, including the three international gateways of Johannesburg OR Tambo, Cape Town and Durban. In 1998, ACSA added Pilanesberg International Airport to its network when it was awarded a 30-year concession to manage this  tourism destination airport.

In 1998, ACSA was partially privatised when 25,4% shareholding was sold to foreign and South African private sector shareholders, at which time ACSA was valued at about R4 billion. In 2005, the 20% foreign shareholding was sold to a South African investment company.

ACSA is a member of a joint venture with GVK Group and others to manage and develop Mumbai International Airport in India.

Airports Company South Africa features in CAPA's Global Airport Investors Database.
