Changi Airport Group was formed on 01-Jul-2009 as a result of the corporatisation of Singapore Changi Airport. Changi Airports International (CAI) is Changi Airport Group’s dedicated subsidiary for overseas ventures. It has been involved in the development and management of various airports throughout the world. CAI is building a portfolio of airport investments worldwide with strong markets and significant development potential.
As an investor, CAI seeks to "play an active and strategic role in helping create and sustain real asset value growth through superior service performance, balanced commercial development and responsible airport planning".
CAI has investments or management consulting contracts in Latin America (Lima, Curacao, San Jose Costa Rica); Russia (Moscow Sheremetyevo T1); China (Nanjing Lukou Airport, JV with Shenzhen Airport Group); India (Bengal Aerotropolis Projects) and the Middle East. Acquired a 5% stake in Gemina SpA, the holding company of Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) (q.v.). More involved in consulting/master planning than in investment but emphasis swinging towards investment and operation.
Changi Airport Group features in CAPA's Global Airport Investors Database.
