Flughafen Zürich AG is owner and operator of Zürich Airport, Swizterland's busiest airport and the country's major intercontinental gateway. It was established in its present form on 01-Jan-2000 and is headquartered in Kloten. The company also operates airports abroad in collaboration with local partners.

Flughafen Zürich AG held a 17% stake in Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) and sold down to 5% in 2009 in order to prepare for new investments in India with strategic partner GVK. It holds a contract with BIAL for the operation and management of the airport.

Flughafen Zürich AG, together with Brazilian Camargo Corrêa Group and Chilean Gestión e Ingeniería IDC S.A., created the Joint Venture A-port.  A-port S.A. with domicile in São Paulo (Brazil) invests in airports as well as in airport related infrastructures in Latin America, whereas A-port Operaciones S.A. with domicile in Santiago (Chile) assumes operational responsibility based on management contracts. Flughafen Zürich AG is a minority shareholder with 15% interest in A-port S.A. and with 32.6% in A-port Operaciones S.A. The portfolio of A-port includes three Chilean Airports (O&M contract) four Hondurian Airports (TSA contract), El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá (TSA) and Curaçao International Airport, as well as Car Parkings in Brazil and Chile (Concession and / or TSA).
 
In January 2009,
Flughafen Zürich AG acquired a stake in Curaçao’s Hato International Airport from Alterra Group through its joint venture A-Port. A-port acquired a 51% stake in Hato International Airport, located in the southwestern Carribbean and will be responsible for the management of Hato International Airport until 2033.
