Antalya Airport serves the city of Antalya, a major tourist destination on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. The airport handled nearly 19 million passengers in 2008, more than 16 million of which were international passengers. The construction of Alanya Gazipa?a Airport, about 100km from the Antalya is expected to ease the traffic burden on Antalya Airport.

Worldwide airport investor community relatively upbeat - ACI Economics & Finance report, Part 2
The fourth Airports Council International Economics and Finance conference took place in London, UK, between 07 and 09-Mar-2012, attracting some 250 speakers, panellists and delegates and with a notably strong representation from Africa. Despite the continuing economic downturn, especially in Europe, the conference, which covered a wide range of topics from ‘the State of the Industry’ via several sessions on airport investment and performance management to airport competition and performance management, was generally upbeat, at least for the long term. Some of the major issues discussed are highlighted below, in this second article. See Part One.
Turkey prepares for big year ahead
With the announcement of new airport projects and continued economic and traffic growth, Turkey is once again demonstrating it is "Europe’s China": and not without foundation.
Second tier LCCs playing major role in reshaping European aviation (Part 2)
This second in a special two-part CAPA report looks beyond the headline-grabbing "big three" European LCCs to provide updates on more than 20 secondary low-cost operators. Part II reviews the progress at Monarch, NIKI, Pegasus Airlines, SkyExress, Smart Wings, Sun Express, Sverigeflyg, Thomson Airways, Transavia.com, TUIfly, Wind Jet and Wizz Air, following on from Part I which reviewed Air Southwest, Anadolujet, Atlastjet Airlines, Belle Air, Blue Express, Blue Air, bmibaby, CLICK4SKY, Flybe, Germanwings, Iceland Express and Jet2.com.
Приватизация (Privatisation) – the new Perestroika or Glasnost for Russia’s airports?
The Russian Government has, according to reports, confirmed plans to privatise 14 airports including Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Ekaterinburg Koltsovo and Novosibirsk Tolmachevo, as part of a wider privatisation programme. If accurate, this development is a natural extension of recent privatisation activity, the most notable of which has been the St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport PPP project, which reached financial closure in Jun-2010.
Frankfurt Airport establishes new traffic records in May-2010
Fraport has reported a further stabilisation of the growth trend last month, with Frankfurt Airport (FRA) registering new record levels for both passengers and airfreight in May-2010 (beating previous records established in May-2008). FRA handled 4.76 million passengers and over 200,000 metric tons of airfreight in May-2010, up 7.1% and 39.7% year-on-year.
World airports report encouraging 1Q2010 traffic trends, though volcano effect expected in April
Worldwide passenger traffic rose by 7.6% in Mar-2010 year-on-year and by 6.1% for the first quarter, according to the latest figures from Airports Council International (ACI). The freight resurgence continued, with a 25.6% rise in total volumes in Mar-2010, led by a 32.4% surge in international freight, while domestic volumes rose 14.6%.
