Biarritz - Anglet - Bayonne Airport serves the cities of Biarritz, Bayonne and Anglet on the Bay of Biscay in southern France. The airport is located 18km from the French-Spanish border, and also serves areas in northern Spain. The airport is managed by a special governing board of members from the Councils of Anglet, Bayonne, Biarritz and St Jean-de-Luz, the local Country Councils of the Landes and Pyrénées Atlantiques provinces and the Bayonne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The airport is a popular tourist destination on the French Atlantic coast, and handles the majority of its traffic in the European summer months.

Air France has announced plans to move away from its Paris-centric strategy and moved into regional French market in a bid to counter the growing threat of low-cost carriers in its home market, which remains one of Europe’s few remaining spaces for growth in the sector.
