Bratislava MR Štefánik Airport is the international airport serving the Slovakian capital. The airport is located nine kilometres from central Bratislava and is a joint-stock company owned by the Ministry of Transport and Posts and the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic. The airport's network spans much of western Europe and the largest airline serving Bratislava is Irish LCC Ryanair.

Spain’s transport conglomerate Abertis released financial highlights for the three months ended 30-Sep-02009 (3Q09). The airports division reported a -8.6% reduction in revenues despite the addition of DCA, a company with stakes in 15 Caribbean and Latin American airports, to its portfolio last year. The performance of the British airports has been the most significant reason for the decline in revenues.
