Is there any discernible strategy here or is it no more than coincidence, as a result of too many disagreements with airports? Union leaders expressed alarm at easyJet’s decision to stop flying from East Midlands Airport and to scale back its Luton operation, which could threatens about 250 jobs. Up to 1.5 million passengers will be effected by the plan to axe 360 flights a week.

World’s largest airport operator reports 12% passenger traffic and 21% cargo reduction in May-2009

Spain’s national airport authority, Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA), the world’s largest airport operator, reported an 11.9% year-on-year reduction in passenger traffic (to 16.3 million passengers) in May-2009, with a steeper 20.5% reduction in cargo volumes. Aircraft movements were down 8.2% to 196,750.
