Prince Mohammad Bin Adbulaziz International Airport (also known as Prince Mohammad Airport and Medina Airport) is an airport serving the city of Medina (Al Madinah) in western Saudi Arabia. Medina Airport is one of the largest airports in Saudi Arabia. The airport opened in 1974 and handles both domestic and international service, mostly from other countries in the Middle East and other Islamic countries. Medina is one of Islam's holiest cities and during the Hajj season Medina Airport handles a large volume of charter traffic. It is owned and operated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

Egyptair CEO, Hussein Massoud EgyptAir targeting improved full-year profits; no LCC plans yet, as new entrants increase pressure

EgyptAir Holding company Chairman and CEO, Hussein Massoud, stated the carrier plans to increase full-year profits by nearly a third, commenting that the carrier is currently “making a profit", and adding: "We are planning to see more this year”. The company is targeting a USD132 million profit in the 12 months to Jun-2011, a 31% year-on-year increase.

The Saudi Arabian Government has ambitious plans to modernise and liberalise the national aviation system, to improve options for passengers and enhance the sector’s efficiency. Key to this has been the move to privatise Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA), develop of national airport infrastructure and create the framework to allow new entrants to prosper. But slow progress in reforming SAA has held back the pace of industry liberalisation and the national carrier maintains a dominant position in the Kingdom's domestic and international aviation markets.
