Milan Bergamo (also known as Orio al Serio Airport) is an international airport serving the Milan metropolitan region, located near the town of Bergamo. The airport is part of the Milan Airport System, along with Milan Malpensa and Linate. Bergamo is a popular airport for low-cost carriers including Wizz Air and Ryanair, which operates a large base at the airport.

European airports enjoy solid recovery in 2010 – Italy performs well

European airports had a reasonably positive year in 2010, generating a 4.2% increase in passenger throughput, despite bouts of extreme weather, labour unrest, passenger taxation in some markets and lingering economic problems in many parts of the continent. Freight traffic recovered by 18.7% last year (off depressed levels in 2009), while aircraft movements were flat (dropping 0.2%).

SEA IPO by end 2011, but are the signs better this time?

Milan’s SEA SpA plans to launch an IPO on the Italian stock exchange by the end of 2011 according to Chairman Giuseppe Bonomi. The airport operator will make a final decision on the offering once main owner, the City of Milan, approves its annual accounts.

The LCC Iceland Express launched four times weekly Keflavík-New York Newark service on 01-Jun-2010, with the carrier reporting that bookings on the route have been "very good". Owned by the Icelandic investment company Fengur, a sister company of Fons Eignarhaldsfelag, which took over the original owner, Northern Travel Holding, Iceland Express appears to have escaped the meltdown of the Icelandic financial services sector.
