João Paulo II Airport is located near Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel on the Azores in Portugal. The airport is the main gateway to the Azores and is managed by ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal. Ponta Delgada is the major hub of Azorian airlines SATA Air Açores and its international subsidiary, SATA Internacional. Portuguese flag carrier TAP Portugal also has a large presence at the airport. Ponta Delgada has a variety of intra-island services and longer-haul connections to the Portuguese mainland. SATA Internacional provides connections to destinations across Europe and North America.
