Stockholm Skavsta Airport is an international airport serving the Stockholm metropolitan region in Sweden. The airport is located 100km south of Stockholm near the town of Nyköping, and is the second-largest airport serving the city (after Stockholm-Arlanda) and the third-largest serving Sweden. Skavsta is a former military air base and remains an important Swedish air cargo facility, but the airport has positioned itself as a low-cost alternative to the Arlanda. Ryanair has a significant base at the airport, and the destinations served from Skavsta are almost exclusively part of the Ryanair network. Wizz Air has a significant presence at the airport, operating to destinations across eastern Europe. Stockholm Skavsta is part of the Abertis group of airports, and there are plans to expand the capacity of the airport.
