Fiji
Centrally situated in the South Pacific, Fiji is one of the main airline hubs of the Pacific region (Hawaii is the other). Aviation in Fiji is comprised of one main international carrier Air Pacific that operates international and domestic services to/from Nadi International Airport, which is the main international gateway for the islands of Fiji. Pacific Island Seaplanes and Pacific Sun (a subsidiary of Air Pacific) are both regional airlines operating within Fiji. The international airports at Nadi and Suva-Nausori are also the main domestic hubs. Many other small islands also have airstrips. Fiji is well serviced by internal airlines.
The aviation Regulatory Authority in the Fiji Islands is the Civil Aviation Authority of the Fiji Islands (CAAFI) which regulates the activities of civil aviation including air navigation, operators, technicians, engineers, cargo and pilots. The Fiji Department of Civil Aviation, under the Ministry of Transport, is responsible for civil aviation policy that ensures efficiency, viability, safety and security of Fijian aviation.
Fiji has air services agreements with 26 countries including Australia & New Zealand.
