Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport is the major international airport located in Dili. In 2006 the airport was placed under control of the Australian Defence force. It is served by Air North, Merpati Airlines and Silk Air. The second main airport is Suai Airport (Covalima Airport).
Civil Aviation Timor Leste is a part of the Ministry of Transport, Communications And Public Works to promote the safety, efficiency and regularity of the aviation services in Timor Leste. The Civil aviation division also has the responsibility for overall planning, implementation and operation of aviation services in Timor Leste.
