The Transport Security Administration (TSA) is a US government agency responsible for ensuring security in all modes of transportation within the country. The TSA was created the the wake of September 11 terrorist attacks with the aim of strengthening the security of America's transportation systems while ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. Part of the Department of Homeland Security, the TSA is an organisation of over 50,000 officers, inspectors, directors, air marshals and managers stationed across the country and in transportation systems affecting the United States.
