Established in 1977, the Autogrill Group operates almost exclusively in three business segments: catering ("Food & Beverage" or "F&B"), airport retail ("Travel Retail & Duty Free" or "TR&DF"), and the provision to airlines of products and services for catering and on-board retail ("Flight”). Autogrill was privatised by the Italian Government in 1995 and acquired Host Marriott Services (renamed HMSHost) in 1999. It acquired 50% of Spanish-based airport duty-free retailer Aldeasa in 2005 and the remainder in 2008. The integration of Alpha's operations was completed in 2008, while World Duty Free Europe Ltd was integrated in 2009. Autogrill is currently active in 42 countries.
