JP Morgan Chase & Co is a major financial services firm headquartered in New York. The firm was formed in 2000 out of the merger between consumer and commercial bank Chase Manhattan Corporation and investment bank JP Morgan & Co. The merged entity continues to operate through the two brands, with consumer and commercial banking services under the Chase brand and investment banking services under the JP Morgan brand.
Chase's consumer business services include works with individuals, families and small businesses offering various forms of financing, credit cards, mortgages, and retirement solutions.
JP Morgan is a leading global investment bank, serving nearly 20,000 clients, including corporations, governments, states, municipalities, healthcare organisations, education institutions, banks and investors. JP Morgan operates in over 100 countries, with a leading presence in all major financial centres. The bank's primary divisions are asset management, private banking, private wealth management, and treasury and securities services. JP Morgan is the largest hedge fund manager in the world.
